I have officially earned my Teacher of English as a Foreign Language Certificate, and therefore can mark it off of my 'to do' list!
I went to the very last class of the course today to receive my certificate and say goodbye to most of my fellow classmates who are going home for the holidays or traveling to other parts of the world. It has been a fun and knowledge-filled four weeks and I am sad to see it end! But alas, as all things, it must.

Officially certified! [And really happy about it!] |
I don't believe I mentioned this before, but the course is graded. Everyone with a passing grade becomes certified, so in that regard the mark doesn't matter. However, if you receive a high mark, TEFL guarantees you an interview at one of their contact schools and you can put it on your resume, which will also help you to get more job interviews. (So in my opinion, if you are serious about getting a job, a good grade can only help you)
I did, in fact, receive an A in the course. Now if you know me well enough that may not come as a surprise to you (When I called my mother to tell her about my good grade she responded "....yeah? So?"). I know that I usually do excel in my academics (and have a little bit of OCD when it comes to grades), but in this course, it is a big deal. A's do not come easily in the TEFL course and are rarely rewarded to students. In my class, I was the only student to receive an A. So, I'm feelin' pretty good about that.
And so, this marks the conclusion of my TEFL certification course and I am now, officially, a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. (whoop de whoop!)
Let the teaching begin!
