...I got another job?

I'm not sure at what point I will stop being so surprised about successfully obtaining work (I suppose that'll happen after 4 months of unemployment)... But anyway, the fact is, I got another job!

The income I will earn from the hours I already have with Get English is enough to pay my Spanish rent. However, it's not quite enough to pay for my every day living expenses nor to save a bit for future travel endeavors. Furthermore, 8.5 hours per week is surely not enough to occupy my busy mind. So after the winter break, I utilized my TEFL contacts and set up an interview for another job at an organization called The English Centre. This job would be similar to my job with Get English. I will have a boss who obtains work and organizes my class schedule for me (and takes a cut out of my pay). But these classes will be of a different variety: They will be mainly with adults over their lunch hour at different companies around the city.

And, well, I suppose the interview went well as my soon-to-be-new boss offered me a job on the spot, which I gladly accepted.

I will begin in February with 3 hours per week of general English classes at an advertising agency. I will teach one class on Tuesdays to a group of 5 people and one class on Thursdays to a woman, all at the company at midday. They are all young professionals who want to brush up on their English, so I expect it will be pretty fun.

So that will put me up to 11.5 hours per week. I have set my minimum goal at 15 hours per week, although I would like to have more like 20. My new boss told me that he will most likely have some other opportunities available as it gets closer to February, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for some more classes with him.

Things are starting to get exciting over here! Progress is positive, after all!
