El Mes de Molly

As many of you may know, February is an important time of year for me. Better known as The Month of Molly, it is a time when I take no shame in celebrating my special day of birth for an entire month.

In fact, while planning to move to Spain for an extended period of time, I was actually more apprehensive at the thought of spending my birthday alone in a foreign country than any other holiday, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Eve (sorry guys, but it's true). Indeed, I have been dreading this thought for quite some time now, wondering how it will all work out and how depressing it will be.

But, as my birthday luck would have it, I can now say almost for certain that The Month of Molly 2012 will not lack any amount of extraordinary. In fact, I think it may turn out to be the most extravagant birthday yet (which is really saying something since I once had a birthday cake that had a fountain in the middle of it). And what do I owe this absolutely sweet turn of events to? Why, my best pals at VIP, of course.

It turns out that I have an almost obnoxious amount of friends studying abroad in Europe for the Spring semester. I mean it. They're all over! London, Prague, Italy, Spain, Vienna (we even had to make a Facebook group to efficiently communicate and plan our various rendezvous). And they all decided that February would be the perfect time to pay me a visit.

So here's the line up:

February 1st: Jojo arrives to kick off the celebrations
February 18th: Carnaval--a popular festival complete with parties and costumes
February 25th: Lindsay, SJB, Sarah, Cara, Libby and more arrive for the main event
February 29th: Mel arrives to close out a fabulous month

At this moment, I can't even comprehend all of this. All I can say is it's gonna be SWEET.

And it starts now. Hang on to your hats!

  1. Perfect. The month of Molly would be quite sad without visitors. How was Carnaval?!?!
